LIMITED EDITION OF 4,500!
History:
The long nosed, tail-finned, British Racing Green Jaguar D-Type was driven to victory in the famous 1955 24 Hours of Le Mans race by future Formula One World Champion Mike Hawthorn. The D-Type was built for racing and was the first race car to adopt a monocoque chassis; introducing aircraft-style engineering to motorsport
The Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR was based partly on the technology of the successful Grand Prix car. It also had the body of a road racer. The 300 SLR became the most successful racing sports car by securing major victories for Mercedes in 1955.
The number 19 car, driven by legendary driver Juan Manuel Fangio in the 1955 Le Mans race, was fitted with an innovative and distinctive air brake, but retired early from the race.

Aston Martin's new £160,000 DBS is the closest you'll get to a roadgoing version of the DBR9 race cars which dominated the GT1 category at the 2007 Le Mans 24 Hours. It's based on the DB9, so it has a V12 engine and a structure built from bonded and riveted aluminium. The biggest difference is on the road - whereas the DB9 is the modern grand touring Aston, the DBS is a hard-edged machine for the enthusiast.
The Scalextric Model:
A fast, attractive sports car with a low centre-of-gravity with lights at the front and rear. It features a a high detail interior and etched metal parts in the bodywork.

The first Seven was built in 1957 by Lotus, the brainchild of Colin Chapman, who was convinced of the advantages of small lightweight racing cars, giving huge power to weight benefits. He actually referred to the Seven as something he had dreamed of designing since he was a schoolboy - a 'four wheeled motorbike'. The quickest Caterham - the R500, introduced in 1999, has a 0-60 time of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 146 mph.
The Superlight R500 represents the ultimate expression of Colin Chapman’s fundamentals. Big power isn’t the only route to big kicks; the R500 is all about lightweight performance – be it on the road or track. Stripped to the bare essentials, all unnecessary comforts are removed to save weight and reduce mass. As with the other Caterham 7 Superlight models, the result is a car with performance to take your breath away by delivering driving thrills in the purest form.
The original R500 was legendary, with the old Rover K-series powered machine rewriting performance records for 0-60mph and 0-100-0mph times. This new variant has been equipped to supersede its predecessor by embracing the very latest in lightweight engineering techniques and technology.
The Caterham and Lotus 7 has always been popular within the Scalextric stable with nineteen livery options. With these little pocket rockets still in great demand we thought it time to bring two more liveries back to the range.
This high detail car features adjustable Magnatraction™ and easy change pick-ups.
1964 East African Safari Rally Winner – Peter Hughes and Bill Young.
The East African Safari Rally is considered one of the most, if not the most, gruelling auto race in the world. It was, and still is to some extent, the testing ground for reliability in production cars. Up to 90 percent of the cars entered in the race never finish.
The course itself has varied from year to year, averaging from 3,100 to or 4,000 miles in length, originally travelling though Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. Since 1974, the rally has stayed within the borders of Kenya due to political unrest in the other countries. Nairobi is traditionally the start and finish point for the rally, as well as often being the midpoint where the rally's big loop stages met.
The Lotus Cortina is a welcome introduction to the Scalextric range. The car driven by Jim Clark is perhaps the most iconic and is the first livery option.
This car is the first Classic car to have the Digital Plug Ready system for quick upgrade to Scalextric Digital with the C8515 Easyfit digital chip
The Jaguar XKR GT3, featuring a 4.2 litre V8 supercharged engine, retains the aluminium body of its production cousin, but has had modifications made in line with the race regulations
guar has always been a firm favourite with Scalextric fans and this one doesn’t disappoint. This fast sleek car has great road holding and makes an excellent endurance race car. This Digital Plug Ready (DPR) car can be converted for use with the Scalextric Digital range in under sixty seconds using the C8515 Digital Plug. The car features working lights at the front Magnatraction™ and easy change pick-ups.
